After a disappointing tenth place finish at Miller Motorsports Park last month, Justin Bell and the rest of the Tiger Racing team were looking forward to this week’s SCCA World Challenge race at Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA. Bell is very familiar with the track, having previously won a Trans-Am race there, and he would be racing with 70 less pounds of reward weight. Ford Mustangs crash out of World Challenge race at Laguna Seca

Things didn’t go as planed for the Ford Mustang teams at today’s SCCA World Challenge race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA. Three of the five Mustangs entered crashed out of the race including Tiger Racing’s Justin Bell who was in the points lead at the start of the day as well as Dane Moxlow who was running his first race of the season in a brand new Boss 302S. Justin Bell knows a thing or two about fast cars, with a win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a FIA GT2 championship on his resume. Bell doesn’t race much anymore, although his double win at the SCCA World Challenge race at St. Petersburg in a Boss 302S earlier this year is proof he’s still got what it takes, and his current occupation is hosting the World’s Fastest Car Show presented by eBay Motors.

Tiger Racing Boss 302S makes it 2-for-2 with win at second World Challenge race in St. Petersburg

Justin Bell had an impressive run at the first of two World Challenge races in St. Petersburg this weekend, climbing from 7th to finish in 1st place in the No. 50 Tiger Racing Mustang Boss 302S. For the second race he had a better starting position in second, but still had a significant challenge in getting around veteran driver Peter Cunningham in his No. 42 RealTime/Acura/HPD Acura TSX on the GTS class pole position. Tiger Racing Boss 302S wins first race of 2012 World Challenge season in St. Petersburg

The Tiger Racing Boss 302S started the 2012 SCCA World Challenge season like it did most of all last year – on top of the podium in the GTS class. The win didn’t come without difficulties, though.
