Car and Driver is the latest to guess what the upcoming 2015 Ford Mustang will look like with a fresh rendering courtesy of artist Jon Sibal. The design sets itself apart from previous ones we’ve seen, not using too much styling from either the Evos Concept or the current S197 Mustang. The front end features perhaps the most traditional Mustang styling, with an aggressive front fascia and dual horizontal grille surrounded by chrome, but the rear has a more generic look void of both the rear quarter window and side …

We’ve seen plenty of renderings of the 2015 Ford Mustang over the past few months, ranging from some that look almost exactly like the Ford Evos Concept to some that aren’t too different from the styling of the current Mustang. However, one of the things those renderings have in common is that they are all guesses of what the standard production 2015 Mustang will look like. Up until now one has taken a crack at what a modified version of the Mustang could look like. That’s changed with this rendering …

Last week we reported that the upcoming four-cylinder engine option in the 2015 Ford Mustang might not be available in the United States, at least according to an article by Edmunds.com. Instead, the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine would only be available in foreign markets like Europe where gas prices and taxes dictate the need for smaller, more fuel efficient powertrains. However, Road & Track is now reporting that the four-cylinder engine will in fact be available in the United States when the 2015 Mustang makes its debut. “Road & Track has …

Rumors of a four-cylinder engine making a return to the Mustang lineup for 2015 have been around for well over a year, with the smaller, turbocharged engine thought to be a solution for more efficiency-minded buyers. Of course, the smaller engine wouldn’t necessarily be lacking in power either, with reports that a 2.3-liter four-cylinder could produce upwards of 300 horsepower. We’ve always assumed, as have others, that the four-cylinder will be offered in the United States, but now Edmunds.com is reporting that it could be a European-only option after talking …

The next generation 2015 Mustang will be called the S550 platform by Ford, MustangsDaily.com has learned from an anonymous inside source. The last several updates to the current generation Mustang – 2010, 2011 and 2013 – while significant in terms of both powertrain and design changes, have all been within the current platform, the S197. However, the changes to the 2015 Mustang will be significant enough that a new designation is required. It will be only the fifth time Ford has introduced a new Mustang platform, marking a significant milestone …

The rumors of an EcoBoost four-cylinder coming to the 2015 Ford Mustang have been all but confirmed, but the technical specifications of the engine including displacement and horsepower and torque outputs are still up for debate. Earlier this year it was surmised that the engine could be the same turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder slated to be in the next generation Ford Focus RS, which could produce anywhere from 250 to upwards of 320 horsepower. Of course, that leaves little room for a V6 option, and it’s possible that Ford might drop …

Yesterday Ford officially announced that the Mustang would soon be coming to Europe as part of the company’s renewed efforts for a global lineup of vehicles. Both Alan Mulally, Ford’s president and CEO, as well as Stephen Odell, vice president and CEO of Ford Europe, gave no details on specifics, though, including when the Mustang would go on sale, how much it would cost and what engine options would be made available.
It appears that Ford is serious about truly making the next generation a global car, however, as a new …

In their continuing quest for a global lineup of vehicles, Ford announced today that the Mustang is officially coming to the European market. The news doesn’t come as a surprise, as it has long been rumored that the next generation 2015 Mustang will be built on a global platform and marketed internationally with a new futuristic design, a new independent rear suspension and the option for a four-cylinder engine. Ford even started to subtly market the Mustang in Europe this past summer, showing off the 2013 Shelby GT500 at events …

Much of the speculation of the upcoming 2015 Mustang’s design has been about the exterior, although we’re perhaps just as curious about what Ford will do with the interior. With widespread speculation that the next generation will be a global vehicle, it’s likely that Ford will be designing the cockpit to appeal to a wider variety of international buyers. Undoubtedly Ford will make the interior less retro, as Ford’s lead designer, J Mays, has said the exterior will feature more futuristic styling.
Thankfully we don’t have to wait anymore to get …

With the introduction of the 2015 Ford Mustang looming, many have tried to put pen to paper and imagine what Ford’s next generation pony car will look like. Early renderings were mere speculation than anything, but later drawings infused design cues from the futuristic Ford Evos Concept after it was reported that the next generation Mustang will lose much of its retro look. Some had the 2015 Mustang looking nearly identical to the concept car while others kept many Mustang’s signature styling attributes.
Now another web site, CarScoop.com, has released a …
