We hope you’re not tired of our coverage of the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, because we’ve got one more gallery of photos to show you. After unveiling the 2013 Shelby GT500 Convertible alongside a mint condition 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R during their press conference yesterday, Ford has put the two cars on a show stand as the highlight of their display. The two cars make for an interesting comparison, and it’s amazing to see how far Ford, the Mustang, and SVT have come in the past twenty years in …

We’ve already shown you plenty of images of the new 2013 Shelby GT500 Convertible including both the official press photos as well as pictures from the live debut at the Chicago Auto Show. We’re Mustang-obsessed, though, so we’re bringing you even more images of every detail of the new Shelby rag top.
Like the coupe, the new GT500 Convertible has received styling updates to the front and rear including a wide open grille, double splitter, new taillights and quad exhaust tips. Under the hood is the new 5.8-liter supercharged V8 with …

Yesterday Ford debuted the new 2013 Shelby GT500 Convertible, but in our opinion the real star of the show is this 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R. Ford brought out the car to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SVT, a fitting tribute since the 1993 SVT Cobra made its debut at the Chicago Auto Show exactly two decades ago.
Although it doesn’t have the horsepower of the modern Shelby (who could have imagined in 1993 that a factory Mustang would have 650 horsepower), the 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R was capable of …

Ford Racing officially unveiled the 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet at the PRI Show back in December, with the latest version of the turn-key racer getting two both naturally aspirated and supercharged 5.0-liter V8 powertrain options for the first time. The 2013 Cobra Jet also received various improvements compared to the 2012 model including better weight distribution, electric power steering, a new roll cage design and improved suspension geometry. Like in previous years, the Cobra Jet will be a limited edition model with just 50 examples scheduled to be built.

Those wanting to buy a new Mustang in blue may have had trouble the last six months or so, since the standard blue option – Kona Blue – has been in short supply due to the Japanese earthquake. The natural disaster caused a shortage of Xirallic pigment, which is used to make the color. Back in May Ford even considered re-introducing Sonic Blue, last offered in 2005, as a replacement.
That never happened, though, but now Ford has introduced a replacement color for 2013 – Deep Impact Blue. We saw this …

Ford has more than a dozen Mustangs on display here at Barrett-Jackson, from SEMA concept cars to the entire 2013 lineup including special packages like the California Special. One of our favorites, though, is this 2013 Shelby GT500 painted in Red Candy. This color hasn’t been available on the GT500 in previous years, and it’s a shame because it’s an excellent combination, especially with the upgraded SVT Performance Package wheels. We definitely prefer it to Race Red (which has been available on the GT500 for the past few years).

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this month Shelby unveiled a series of Anniversary Edition Mustangs. Available on the GT350, GTS and GT500 Super Snake, these cars were built to celebrate Shelby’s 50th anniversary and feature special paint – either white or black with gold stripes – as well as special badging and interiors. Just 100 will be built of each car, making them instant collector cars.
While we showed you plenty of pictures of all three cars in Detroit, Shelby has a GT500 Super Snake Anniversary …

At the SEMA Show back in November Roush wowed us by unveiling the Stage 3 Premier Edition Mustang featuring unique Sherwin-Williams Planet Color paints. The limited edition pony car is perhaps the flashiest yet to come from Roush, with paint names Blue Bayou, Gold Rush, Liquid Copper and Red Blooded American. The prototype at the show featured a brilliant orange called Mat It Mango with Sin City Silver graphics, and it made us curious as to what the other colors would look like. We’re now getting a glimpse, as Roush …

We’ve seen plenty of custom Mustangs over the years, but one of the most fascinating is this 2011 convertible you see here. Built by Galpin Auto Sports, this bright orange Mustang made its debut at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and while the bright orange paint job might be the first thing you notice, a closer look reveals its most interesting feature – a retractable convertible hardtop. Obviously, Ford doesn’t produce or sell a convertible hardtop Mustang, so to see one with an OEM look is pretty intriguing.

Ford previously released a few photos of the 2013 Mustang California Special, but the images were small and all but one showed the C/S without the black striping that is supposed to be featured on the car. Ford has now rectified that by releasing a few new images of the car, now in high resolution and all showing the black graphics in clear detail.
While Ford hasn’t officially released any information regarding the 2013 California Special, many of the special features can be easily seen in the photos. In addition to …
