New Product: JLT Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake for the 2011 Mustang 5.0
JLT Performance is set to release its cold air intake for the 2011 Mustang later this month, and the company has released some initial details and photos of the new system. JLT has been putting miles on their prototype for the last few weeks, and they are reporting that the power and drivability is much improved from the stock version.
The new cold air intake will come in both carbon fiber and plastic variants and feature a 110mm MAF housing incorporated into the tube, and ABC plastic airbox that uses the factory intake duct from the grille, fittings milled from solid billet aluminum, and a weather strip that seals the intake to the hood. Consideration was also given to the interior sound tube, and customers will have the choice of whether to use it or not. A cap will be provided with the kit to allow the tube to be removed and sealed.
All JLT CAI kits will come with all parts need for both manual and automatic cars and will carry the same part number. Automatic tubes need an additional fitting, which is provided. JLT plans to do final testing in the next few weeks, but early prototypes have shown gains of 20-26 RWHP with the CAI and tune. Pricing for the carbon fiber CAI will be $349.00 while the CAI and tuner package will retail for $699.00.
