MGW previews its new shifter for the Shelby GT500

MGW is well known for its quality short throw shifter for the S197 Mustang, but the company has only produced the piece strictly for the Mustang GT. Until now. MGW has announced that they are currently in the last stages of development of a new shifter built to work with the Shelby GT500. The shifter will fit 2007-2009 models, and likely 2010-2011 GT500s as well. Like the shifter for the Mustang GT, the GT500 unit will be CNC machined in MGW’s state-of-the-art facility using aircraft grade aluminum and will feature an adjustable throw, sound and thermal deflection technology, and strong lateral spring for precise shifts. All components of the stock shifter will also be replaced including bushings and washers. Customers can also choose between the stock knob or one of MGW’s aftermarket knobs. Each shifter also comes with a complete video installation CD. Those interested in buying the new MGW GT500 shifter can head over to their web site or call 706-793-1770 for production and ordering information.
