Ford has just launched its configurator for the 2011 Mustang, allowing users to build their very own Mustang featuring the new 5.0-liter V8 or the 3.7-liter V6. The base Mustang V6 coupe starts at $22,145 while the Mustang GT now comes in at $29,645. Some notable options include the Brembo Brake Package ($1,695), the Security Package ($395), and a 3.73 rear axle ratio ($395). You can configure your own at Ford’s web site.

Just days after the debut of his brand new 2011 Ford Mustang drift car, Vaughn Gittin Jr. captured the win in the first competition of the 2010 Formula Drift season. Gittin beat out Rhys Millen in the final, giving him his second Formula Drift victory and the points lead to start the season.

Last night Vaughn Gittin unveiled his brand new ride for the 2010 Formula Drift season along with his new sponsor, Monster Energy Drink. Based on the 2011 Mustang GT, the new car gets an updated chassis and suspension and a new look to match Gittin’s RTR-C Mustang. The concept car for the new line of 2010 ROUSH® Barrett-Jackson Edition Mustangs was sold today for a total of $100,000 during the Palm Beach, Fla., auction. This car was custom painted in “Back in Black” with “Red Hot Chili Pepper” stripes that sparkled under the television lights. The auction was shown live during the SPEED television broadcast.
This car was the prototype for a run of 25 units on the 2010 Ford Mustang chassis, each sporting 540 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. …
