One of the stars of last night’s Barrett-Jackson auction was the 2011 Ford Mustang Daytona 500 Pace Car, which sold for $330,000. This Mustang is the first 2011 Mustang available for sale to the public, and will be the first Mustang to pace the Daytona 500 in forty years. The winning bidder also received a trip to the race, access to Ford’s hospitality center, a tour of the pits, and a lap on track with Carl Edwards. In addition, the proceeds from the sale went to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
